Id go again and request the same room
I had a lovely art-deco room overlooking Geary street, 4th floor. A live band played music on the street corner on the weekend evenings and they were good, so I could sit on my bed and enjoy live music. If one didnt care for that, request a room toward the back or away from there. The street is lined with art galleries, and good places to eat are abundant. I highly recommend Cafe Mason, at 320 Mason Street, just a block or so away around the corner. My hotel room was lovely, the housekeepers were exemplary. I had to go down a floor for ice, but couldnt remember to tell the hotel staff, so it didnt matter to me. I loved the place.
Traveller's tip on dining
Cafe Mason on 320 Mason Street, is open 24 hours, serves homemade, delicious food at reasonable prices. The blue bus hop-on, hop-off tour was good, Jodies wonderful. Its about 4 miles to walk to GG Park, lovely historic houses and on the way. Macys has a PO, and excellent little restaurants at basement level. I loved the salad place and the taco shop. Britex Fabrics is just two blocks or so down the street.
