Galway City Radisson

Recently stayed two nights with my wife. Can’t say enough about the experience. The rooms were spotless and quite comfortable, with wide screen TV and fridge and in room safe, etc. The health spa came as part of the purchase of the two nights and contained every sort of workoput device you would need; from free standing wights to machines, to cardio and etc. There are locker rooms and they are convenient and contain personal lockers ans showers. Only downside is that bathing caps are required by both male and female for the pool (a minor unexpected twist at two Euro a pop). Staffing at the SAS were great and check and check out was smooth. There is an attached garage with free nightly parking and before I forget there is also free WiFi. The restaurant is expensive but classy... and service there is excellent. Also... the hotel is close to town (a five minute walk) and close to major artery leading into the downtown area. Great experience.

Lovely room

This hotel is in imaculate condition. Could not fault the room. The bathroom especially was lovely, with not only a bath, but also a completely separate walk in shower. Breakfast was included and was very good. The hotel sits by a river, on the north side of a bridge, close to many ameneties.

Traveller's tip on dining

we ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent.

Enjoyable Stay

Lovely hotel, near the Train and Bus Station in Galway and only a 5-10 minute walk to the shops, bars, nightlife. Room was nicely decorated with king size bed and feather pillows, very comfortable bed. Free internet access just behind the receptionist desk. Free parking on site also, you just get your ticket stamped at reception before you leave. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style and you could pick and choose at your leisure, wasn’t too busy at 9am. Had lunch there also, but wasn’t my cup of tea as i’m a plain eater, but my husband enjoyed it. Went to the spa in the hotel also for treatments, went for the autumnal package which gave you use of the Spa and 2 treatments, lovely and relaxing. The pool in the hotel was fine, the outdoor hot tub wasn’t working when I was there, but was too cold anyway to use it. Went to Monroe’s Bar, down past Shop Street across the bridge from Jury’s Hotel to your left. Lovely Pizza and great band playing. Also went to Roisin Dubh’s across the street from it which had a rock band playing. This was a Monday night and the place was still busy. Was a lovely hotel and will be staying here again and the next time I would be asking for a view of the lake, which we didn’t have and would be nice to look out on in the morning.
