Friendly and pleasant in an excellent location
Very friendly and helpful staff who checked for an unspoken birthday. We found the hotel very pleasant, the room was ok. I would go back.

Spacious and comfortable!
I booked this hotel last minute and was so satisfied. Hotel is located on a quite street. The rooms were large. Great bathroom with stand up shower that was roomy. Breakfast was average with no hot items but they had coffee/tea, pasteries, breads, cereal, and fruit (would not spend extra on the breakfast). Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is fabulous. Restaurants and shopping are about 5 minute walk across the bridge. Rome is a great waking city and you can easily get to all the main sites from the location. There is no train station is nearby. We took a taxi that cost 15 euros to get from the main train station to the hotel. Will stay here again

Great hotel in good location
The Hotel Dei Mellini is a great hotel - we were able to walk from the hotel to most Rome areas, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and Castel Sant Angelo (dont miss it, there are great views from the top of this castle). The included continental breakfast at the hotel had a good selection including fruit, cereals and various bread & pastries. The hotel is a long walk from the metro but there is a bus to and from the nearby Piazza Cavour which is much easier than carrying luggage through the busy Metro system.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We bought a 3 day Roma Pass at the airport and used it for the Colliseum, Forum & Castel Sant Angelo - it also covers bus fares for 3 days and was great value. It also saved us queuing for a long time to buy tickets in the Colliseum
