Expected a bit more for my money
I expected a bit more for my money, but overall it was a good experience. Hotel and room decor was lovely, great shower, customer service was excellent. Here are the bad points-- -if you try to use a Mac with the WIFI, it wont work! disappointing, especially when free wifi is a reason why you choose a hotel. -no double glazing on the windows! We were on the 5th floor and facing the back of the hotel. It was a Saturday night so I expect a bit of noise. But wow, the drunks singing on the street at 3am were SO LOUD! Woke both myself and friend up. -very limited parking!
Mariachis! Its the best Mexican food on this side of the atlantic! --Well at least the fajitas. They were awesome :) But be sure to reserve a table if you are going on a Friday or Saturday night!

A great experience.
Although my purpose of taking a hotel is to merely spend comfortable night. Apex International Hotel was remarkable. The room was very spacious, clean and peaceful (though the view was not perfect but it doesnt matter to me) the bathroom was superb with quality sanitory fittings. The location was perfect at the Grassmarket, just some 5 mins walk to Royal Mile & the Edinburdgh castle. The Grassmarket has a number of great restaurants and taxis & buses were readily available at all times. High speed Internet is available in room and what more a traveller may require to spend comfortable nights and peaceful mornings.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Very good breakfast is available in the Grassmarket road in a number of restaurants with plenty of choices. Menu & Rates are displayed in front of every restaurant so better to go out for a lovely breakfast.
