Money well spent
I enjoyed my stay here, the reception is 24 hours, so no problems with a late check in. The staff speak English, it is very near the beach, convenient for both Copacabana and Leblon. Also, it is a very safe area, had no problems in that area whatsoever. The street it is on is also full of bars and restuarants.

Solid upscale hotel in a great location
This is a very good 3.5-4* hotel in a great location in Ipanema, just a half block from the beach.

a very bad value
probably the worst hotel, in terms of value/price ratio, of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in in many years of traveling to Rio. Dirty pool, a bar with no employees, small rooms at a very high price. Worst, after being caught in a downpour the hotel refused to lend us an iron or hairdryer to dry our clothes. It was the hotel laundry or nothing. Vastly more expensive than this chain’s hotels in Europe. A genuinely poor hotel.

We were surprised with this facts because the big majority of our guests always loves the hotel. About your concerns, the service in the pool has already got an extension of time to better serve our guests. We donīt lend irons for the own safety of our guests. We comprehend that the Ipanema Plazaīs cheapest room, are smaller than the american standard rooms, our standard room has 26m2, but itīs a good size comparing with the majority hotels in Rio. We are sorry for this inconveniences and to change this impression about us, we look forward to having you here with us again in the near future!
