Good value & location
We were very satisfied with the hotel itself and its location within walking distance to most attractions and lots of restaurants. Only complaint was the current metro construction right in front of the hotel, making it hard to get to from some directions. Fortunately, the windows blocked most of the construction noise. We would definitely go back there again.

Well situated
We enjoyed a long weekend in this well located hotel. The room was of adequate size and by continental standards and the breakfast was good. There is a generous lounge for sitting in and we would return. Despite being surrounded by roadworks the hotel is well insulated and it was not a problem.
Take the handy metro.

Would definitely go back
I was on the top floor with one of only 18 balconies in around 400 rooms - luck of the draw, apparently. Walls appeared to be made of actual brick as opposed to usual hotel glorified cardboard, so another big plus and no noise whatsoever. Air conditioning good. Justified four-star rating. All reception staff were fine bar one, who gave every impression of wishing he had any other job. The mtero is literally bang outside the hotel. Kalvin Square is a bit noisy while theyre renovating it, but the room soundproofing is absolutely fine.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Theres a 24-hour conveniece store two minutes walk to the left down the main road, Danube direction. By a 7-day travel pass, covering all public transport. Budapest transport (metro / buses / trams) is abundant and efficient. Ask for a "Hetijegy" (pronounced "hetty edge"). Costs about 16 euros.
