great hotel in the best stockholm neighborhood
When my boyfriend and I decided to travel to Stockholm for a week, we read mostly about hotels located in "the city" or in Sodermalm, the gentrifying and youthful part of Stockholm. However, when we spoke with a number of our Swedish friends and told them we’d chosen a hotel in the Gamla Stan, they said it was obvious we had done our research. The Gamla Stan is one of the most beautiful and quiet areas of the city, and in the perfect location to access all of the city’s treasures. Walking through the Gamla Stan at night was one of our favorite activities. That said, the Hotel Rica Gamla Stan is a great place to stay in that neighborhood. It’s relatively small and unimposing, but our room was pretty and clean, the service was efficient, and the hotel breakfast was delicious. It had the feel of a bed and breakfast, which ended up being just right.

a very good choice
Hotel is very conveniently located in Old City. Rooms are small but so is the old city itself. Excellent service. Worth its price!

Perfect hotel for certain people
Perfect hotel in the very best location for getting to know a delightful city. The hotel is like an elegant glove box with chandeliers, antiques, an efficient three-person elevator, helpful staff, and magnificent breakfast. Our room on the top floor was quite large, comfy and romantic. If you require the services, and might I add pretenses - of a "grand" hotel or if you want views, this is not for you.
