expedia misreprsentation in description

lovely hotel fabulous staff but only went for this one in partuicular as expedia details stated it had tea and coffe faciotliies in room. and at 2.50 for a cup of coffee in a paper cup and £ 3.00 elsewhere this was the mjor draw. however Scandic anglais DO NOT provide this facility. when we explained that this was how they were described on expedia they did provide a tray, but it never got washedup or topped up. like I say, only mionor on the part of the descrition on expedias part.

Not impressed

Based on the good reviews I choose this Hotel but I was not impressed. The room was noisy due to the fact that it was located close to the genenral ventilation system, the room was small and not especially clean. I was annoyed that the air conditioning could not be switched off. The outside temperature was not more then 20 C and it turned the room into a fridge. What a waste of energy. Hotel staff was not helpful either to solve the situation.

Modern Comfort

The hotel was very modern, which is not exactly my taste, but new and comfortable. Amenities and service were very good. The location of the hotel was excellent. Within walking distance of all the main attractions in Stockholm.

Hotel Review

The Hotel was adequate for my needs. As far aa value, there are many other hotels in Stockholm that are in the same price range that are more up to date and more comfortable. On the plus side, the hotel food was great.

Beautiful Stockholm

Excellent hotel in a really good location to walk and see most of the sites. Staff extremely nice and helpful and fantastic buffet breakfast to set you up for the day. Only downside, bed a bit soft!

Perfect for a weekend away

We stayed at the Anglais for 3 nights and found it perfect in every way. Only drawback was the 3pm check in time which was a little on the late side. Beds are super comfy, and great bar down stairs which is extremely popular with the local, young professional set. Breakfasts are the best I’ve had in Europe and set you up nicely for a day walking around Stockholm. Great location, about 20mins to the old town, Gamla Stan. Would definitely be staying here on future visits!

I wish the hotel personel would empty ashtrays and clean ouside, place stunk like an ashtray.

Wonderful Hotel!!!

I stayed here 4 nights with my father and have nothing but good things to say. The hotel was in a great location. Had a super friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was the best ive ever had at a hotel anywhere.

Great Hotel

The hotel is great hotel, central location, excellent staff & lively busy bar. its a hort walk to various shops & bars. No complaints - would recommend to friends & family.

Decent place

A decent, clean and modern hotel that’s not too expensive. Also not too far from the centre and the area is quite nice for a stroll. Restaurant was not open during the winter holiday period however.

Hotel Anglais Review

Very pleased with all elements of our stay. Friendly and helpful check in and check out staff. Clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast avaialble until 2pm!!! Good rates and centrally located. Great stay

Not a 4 star Hotel

This hotel is well situated. However is not a 4* hotel. No minibar, no cofe maker (as advertize), no bath foam or soap, very noisy loby, the room cleanliness is done every 4 days. Beware of room service! 15 $ charge for every item!

Not so good for business

OK hotel overall with excellent breakfast, a die for location and a funky hip lobby bar. Not really geared up to business travellers though (No black out curtains in rooms (only net curtains) no room service, etc). Better suited for the leisure traveller. I’d certainly consider doing that if I come back to Stockholm for a non work commitment Also I cant understand why any hotel who claims to be environmentally friendly (and to be fair this hotel does much much more than most) does not provide plugs in the wash basin. I used as much water for one shave than I would do for 10 at home.... Clearly not worth the 5 stars that Expedia insists it is.

Great City Centre Hotel

Three night stay in this modern hotel was excellent but be warned to expect lots of noise outside up to 5.00am as it is situated near many nightclubs which do not close until near daybreak. Also avoid the 7th floor champagne bar as is simpy not worth it (a converted room and balcony!). This did not spoil our stay though as Stockholm is a truly wonderful, interesting and clean city and everything is within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast is truly amazing, from many kinds of fruit, cereals, bread, cold meats to hot scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, pancakes and cold and hot drinks. Hotel front desk staff recommended excellent restaurants from Italian, to Indian. We would stay there again but would ask for a quieter room location. The hotel bar is full of office workers at night and apparently folk looking out for the celebrities who stay at the hotel from time to time.

Traveller's tip

Walk everywhere. It is so easy to get around on foot and you get a better feel for the city.
