ideal location
Most all of Stockholm is walkable from this property which is well known for its convenicen to the Stureplan nightlife. Rooms are typical for Scandinavia.

Solid Choice in Stockholm
My family stayed at the Scandic Anglais hotel July 2009 on our Scandinavian vacation. Positives: The hotel price included one of if not the best breakfast buffet I’ve had in Europe. They had so many choices my wife and I were able to skip lunch despite being picky eaters because of the selection...and they serve breakfast late. The hotel is also probably a five minute walk to the subway which is nice. The bed was comfortable, and WIFI Internet was included. Negatives: My main problem with the hotel was the noise from the downstairs bar and surrounding area. There is a park across the street with outdoor eating and the music was loud enough to hear in our room with windows closed and everything until very late in the night (2AM). This made it tough with a 6 month old.

Not impressed
Based on the good reviews I choose this Hotel but I was not impressed. The room was noisy due to the fact that it was located close to the genenral ventilation system, the room was small and not especially clean. I was annoyed that the air conditioning could not be switched off. The outside temperature was not more then 20 C and it turned the room into a fridge. What a waste of energy. Hotel staff was not helpful either to solve the situation.
