Good base for trip around Oslo

Location is excellent, just a short walk for many of the best sights and areas of Oslo. The hotel seems to share an entrance with a theatre/cinema which is a little quirky but didn’t impact us at all. Room is compact but smart and comfortably furnished. Bathroom was clean and functional. Our room had a window only onto the downstairs cinema bar which meant we couldn’t open it. When combined with the fact the the a/c didn’t work meant it was a little stuffy at night. Breakfast was included in the price and was a really wide selection of decent food.

Spartan at best

Maybe it was the Scandinavian style, but our double room was very small, with no drawers nor a closet, so we had to live out of our suitcases for a week. People were very nice, buffet breakfast plentiful and restaurant food tasty. We just didn’t want to spend any free moments in the room. We should have spent more to stay elsewhere. Might be best for a single traveler. It was like a dormitory room, only smaller.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

All the Oslo sights or the bus/ferry to get to them were very convenient and within a short walking distance from the hotel. Norwegians are most friendly, very cordial and speak terrific English. We loved Vigeland Sculpture Park the best.
