5 star quality!
When we booked this hotel, we expected a nice experience in a golf friendly hotel. We were very pleasantly surpirsed to find that "Land and Golf", despite the somewhat strange name, is a first class spa and resort style hotel. We took our 11 year old, and on arrival, they presented her with a backpack filled with goodies and coupons for ice cream and a "virgin" drink at the bar. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and when I asked for directions to the Burg Eltz castle (a must see 1/2 hour drive), they printed up driving maps and directions. The food was delicious. Be sure to try the buffet dinner, which is a bit pricey, but worth every euro...the ebst meal we had on our 2 week trip. The breakfast was also extraordinarily good, with many options and it includes champagne. The pool/sauna/steam room/solarium facilities were 5 star quality. You will find a basket in your room with robes and slippers. The basket has your room number tagged on it, and you take it down with you to the spa. You can carry your toiletries, booiks etc in there, and it can be locked up or brought with you wherever you go. A great idea!
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Drive to the Mosel River to see the cute towns. Burg Eltz castle is a must see...one of the best preserved 15-16th century castles I have seen, both inside and out!

A gem in the middle of nowhere in Germany
This is a resort hotel mostly for locals. The room is very nice and clean,the bathroom is clean, but not luxurious- probably the only disappoitment I had for this hotel. The hotel has three resturants, even the buffet restaurant was excellent. The a-la carte restaurant was superb- offering novel German cuisine which rivals the best of French cuisine at much lower cost.
