A really good experience.
We were impressed by the efficiency and friendliness of all the staff in this hotel. Everyone we met gave that little bit extra to make sure our holiday was a success. The lobby staff gave us lots of advice about local transport. places to visit , restaurants etc, The hotel was extremely comfortable. The buffet breakfast had a good choice of hot and cold dishes. With a metro station right outside the front door and buses a 2 minute walk away this hotel provided an excellent base for a sight seeing visit to Lisbon.
Buy a ticket called ’7colimas’ from a newspaper booth, it costs a few euros and entitles you to a whole days transport on the buses, trams and metro- a real money saver. We found public transport generally to be cheap and efficient.

Great Hotel in Lisbon
Would hghly recommend Marques de Pombal Hotel, conveniently located with a few restaurants nearby and the Restaurteurs area being approximatley 15 minutes walk along a pleasant tree lined road. Helpful staff, good breakfast and good sized rooms.

Lovely hotel
This hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main shopping/eating area of Lisbon, however there is a metro just outside the hotel which is quick and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of hot and cold foods and I am pleased to say the buffet was refilled quickly. Staff were extremely helpful - many english hotels could learn from this one on the customer relations front.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
There is a visitor transport/attraction card which we bought a 3 day one. However, if you are not planning to visit museums etc every day then you would be better off getting a metro/yellow bus daily card which worked out a lot cheaper for getting around on public transport
