Convenient and quality hotel
We stayed twice in the same week, at the beginning and end of our trip to Austria. The first night we stayed in the main building and the room was modest and quite acceptable for the over night stay. The only disadvantage was the noise from the road below and the ancient tiny TV. The second stay was much better, we stayed in the second block (the other side of the road) and it was spacious, delightfully decorated and much quieter. I think we struck gold the second time because it was a pleasure to stay there. The walk into the old town is very convenient and the staff are quite helpful. The breakfast isn’t elaborate but the quality is high.
Pre-book your breakfast because it was quite a bit more as a last minute cost.

Beautiful View and great location
We had a room on the top floor and there was a balcony with a wonderful view on the mountains. Plenty of room. We were very surprised at how much we got for our money. The breakfast buffet is great and well worth the money. The only complaint is that was no shower curtain strangely.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Instead of taking public transportation to Hohensalzburg, please hike the 30 mins with the trail atop Monchsburg.

Good Hotel
Second time I have stayed here - the short walk under the mountain to the centre is worthwhile and eveything is in walking distance.
Traveller's tip on dining
Try the Sound of Salzburg dinner show, food is ok but the show is very entertaining and well worth the slightly hight price...
