Will never stay at that hotel again!

We booked a room with a double bed which was confirmed, when we checked in we were told the double bed was a request & because they were fully booked we couldn’t have a double therefore the confirmation was not honoured. One of the sash window cables was broken so the windows had to be propped open or not opened at all. The shower curtain had a hole in it. Then it took an hour for our cooked breakfast to be served & when it did eventually turn up it was incomplete and not very good. Considering this was a birthday present for my girlfriend we were both very disappointed and all I’ve done since is apologize to her.

Order Breakfast from the room as it takes a hour to get a cook breakfast.

Perfectly OK hotel for a short stay

Nothing special, a bit tired and characterless, but clean and friendly with adequate rooms and a pleasant location (if a bit noisy if in a room at the front). Would stay there again if for one night but for a longer stay would probably choose somewhere more luxurious or interesting. Slightly over-priced, especially as breakfast not included, but I guess that’s rip-off Cambridge for you!

Reasonable for an expensive city

Stayed here for a night to enable us to explore Cambridge. V good location for it as can easily walk everywhere. Rooms were clean although the decor a little dated. Given Cambridge is an expensive place to stay, it’s reasonably priced but nothing outstanding in this hotel at all. Was bit disappointed that the staff at reception didn’t know the name of our restaurant when it is very well known in Cambridge and a short walk down the road.

Would definitely recommend eating at The Oak Bistro if you’d staying here. Less than five minutes walk down the road, great food and fantastic value for money!
