Disappointment
After having had recommendations from several people to go to Marrakech, we were disappointed. The souks and the Djemma El Fna are fun and very memorable but apart from that there is very little else to see and do in Marrakech. Food and drink is not particularly cheap. Overall - quite disappointing. We would not recommend it as a destination.

Lovely hotel and great base in Marrakech
Just spent 3 nights at the Meridien. This is a fabulous base to explore Marrakech if you want to mix the buzz of the souks with some sunbathing by the pool. Room was modern and clean with the biggest bed I have ever seen. Staff were hepful and the concierge always on hand to book restaurants and confir our flights.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
before getting into a taxi, ask them to put the meter on, if no walk away. You may decide to agree a price upfront otherwise. Dont pay more than Drh15 between the hotel and Place Djemaa el-Fna and do not pay more than Drh100 from the airport (way back is cheaper about Drh50 max).
