Lack of communication
I bought a 3 night stay for my parents celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary - they were very pleased, loved the location of the hotel and enjoyed the breakfast. As for me though, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of communication with the reception personel. I was aranging a third party payment and although reassured by the reception manager that everything was put in the reservation system (many e-mails exchanged) - my parents were still asked to pay the bill at their departure. A bit embarassing for me, a bit stressful for my parents as they do not speak French - if I did not speak to the receptionist on the phone I am afraid my parents would be made to pay for the expenses. So if you pay for the stay of your loved ones - it is something to think about and ensure that the arrangements are really made. Other than that - my parents really enjoyed their stay and that’s what important.

clean, helpfull
Tryp Blanche Fontaine was new and clean with friendly helpfull service. The breakfast was excellent and cheap. I would definitly recommend it. However, it is located directly adjacent to the red-light district, so anyone planning a family vacation might find it unsuitable.
Traveller's tip on dining
To find a first class restaurant, just go to the Mouline Rouge (you can’t miss it) and walk up hill. There are many excellent restaurants and bars. They seem to be mostly patronized by locals.

Brillant cheap(ish) hotel in central Paris
I fully recommend this place. Definately the grandest 3star Ive ever stayed in, and better than most 4stars. For what you pay and seeing the condition of other Pais acc around the same price, its a brillant deal. Huge room, spotless shiny bathroom with bath, and a mini bar fridge for stocking up yourself it doesnt get any better. Location superb with heaps of decent bars around. Could of done with tea & coffee in room, and the breakfats seemed expensive (got stuff from supermarket instead). Staff seemed very friendly and they cleaned and tidied the room every day.
We had been travelling round for a few weeks so were desperate to do some washing,. The hotel laundry prices were astronomical (Like 6 euro a shirt), but there was a decent cheap laundromat round the corner on Blanche.
