Cheap but very clean and comfortable with brilliant views!
Fantastic hotel, considering the cheap price and 2 star rating, we were a tad wary. The hotel was very clean, very funky - bright green astroturf to carpet the halls and stairs - and fantastic big curtains and a window. We requested politely in an email to the hotel a top floor room with a good view - this is exactly what we got! Great big balcony overlooking paris, a huge window allowing us to look over Paris whatever the weather. Good clean bathroom, very acceptable shower. Maids tidied beds and changed towels on a daily basis. Our room was pretty big but we got the impression that there were more rooms on the lower floors, there were only 4 on the top floor. Lift was handy but could be a bit noisy at night. Fantastic location for Sacre Coeur and is literally on top of the metro - brilliant!!! No problems, hotel staff very helpful and friendly - good english!
Traveller's tip
USE THE LIFT IN THE METRO AT ALL TIMES!!! We made the mistake of bringing all our baggage up the stairs on the first day - it was horrible!!!!

When In Paris Stay at The Roma!
We chose the Hotel Roma Sacre Coeur for its proximity to the Stade de France where we seeing U2 in concert, and for its location in Montmarte - our favourite part of Paris. The fact that it happened to be a bargain was simply a bonus. The hotel is situated on Rue Culaincourt, a typically wide, tree-lined Parisienne boulevard and is literally right above the metro station of Lamarck-Culaincourt. The immediate area is well-off for bars, bistros and restaurants and although only a stones throw from the Sacre Coeur, feels more "local" than touristy. The hotel itself, considering the tariff we paid, was superb. Check-in was a breeze and our room on the 6th floor (top-of-the-shop) had great views over Montmartre and north Paris. A small lift is in situ but tis not for the claustrophobic! Breakfast was included, and this was served in a small room on the ground floor. Plenty of breads and spreads to be had. All in all, a great little hotel complete with its own popular terrace bar - Chez Ginette - and one we would happily return to next time were in Paris.
For a drink and a lovely lunch in proper Parisienne surroundings, try the "Au Relais" bistro about 200 yards from the hotel on Rue Lamarck.

Great Room for the Money
First of all the hotel staff was fantastic! The hotel is located a few steps away from the metro, and just a few minutes walk from sacre-coeur, shopping, and some great fabric and street markets. The room was very clean & comfortable. The only challenge I had was trying to get to sleep a couple nights. We visited in the summertime so since theres no AC we needed to have the windows open. Being so close to a couple cafes, a restaurant, and the metro it was a little noisy--but that was the only drawback! All in all it was a fabulous stay!
