a nostalgic break in medieval location
Just back from a 4 nights stay with breakfast included, My wife and I liked the quiet location in the old part of Dijon and had a good room on first floor overlooking the garden area; the minor criticism was lack of drawers for garments but otherwise good standard of decoration. Breakfast, French style, was of high standard with a wide range of food with prompt and friendly service; in the basement but this is quite usual for France. Reception staff were helpful, courteous and very friendly - making sure that we had full directions to get Sunday evening meal; English spoken. We did not use the restaurant as we found better priced menus a short walk away but there was no pressure to use their facility. It is a perfect location for exploring the old city and has a free navette bus stop outside if one does not want to walk too far. We would certainly stay there again and use Expedia for making a booking
Traveller's tip on dining
Place Emile Zola is a few minutes walk with a range of restaurants for lunch and evening meals, also restaurant Laure at side of the cathedral for wood fired grills and pizzas

Not as advertised. Noisy Location. Plain Room. No air-conditioning.
This room was extremely small and the decor was ultra plain. The pictures on line show a much nicer room. The air-conditioner did not work and when we opened the windows the traffic/street noise made it impossible to sleep. When we complained about the air-conditioner they said they were sorry, but had not other rooms and evidently they were not able/willing to fix the problem. The location was a good distance from the train station and is not easily found if you dont know the area. I would not stay there again and I cannot recommend this hotel.

Location OK, Uncomfortable Room
The location was fine, the desk clerk was helpful and spoke English, but if I had to do it again, Id look for another hotel in the same price range. The room was small (and I mean small, even by European standards), with a painfully uncomfortable bed; a stained bedspread; a thin, torn blanket; and whisper-thin pillows. The surrounding neighborhood and street were quiet, though, and the WC was clean. Still, for the money, Id try another alleged three-star hotel, perhaps one with updated furnishings and a little closer to the town center.
