Conveniently located close to St. Jean railway station
The hotel is conveniently located. Whether you come to Bordeaux by rail or fly in with bus shuttle to city center, you are only minutes away from the St. Jean railway station/depot. The room is clean, and staff was helpful, especially when they provide a local city map, which is a plus.
Traveller's tip
There are some dodgy areas if you explore the neighborhood a bit more, especially in the night time. Just like any other city, it’s relatively safe, as long as you don’t flash your valuables around, you should be fine without causing any undesired attentions.

Good location, good service
The Hotel St. Jean is conveniently located near the train station in Bordeaux. It was clean and secure and the staff spoke english. There are a number of restaurants and bars in the area. I probably wouldn’t stay here as a base for touring the area because there are other, more atmospheric areas, but it was very convenient to the train station and very comfortable. Be aware that the hotel does not have air conditioning.

Convenient for railway station and trams to city centre
Nicely refurbished hotel in excellent location. Very little noise from traffic despite location. Garage parking expensive but there is on-street parking available.
Breakfast was expensive - unfortunately we were not aware of this until after we had eaten so you may want to check the price before deciding to eat there.
