Decidedly grubby Hostel like
very disapointing for the money grubby stained carpets. Booked double..got twin..bathroom- mildew and very cheap toiletries. Breakfast again very dissapointing.. juice machine dispensing hidious squash like liquid, staff very indifferent Uncleared tables, coffee erghhh!!! dont go it spoilt our otherwise great weekend in ostend.
Anywhere bar the hotel.. great fish, great chips and fantastic beer!!

A good hotel in Oostende
Ideally located for both the beach and Oostende centre, and with secure car parking nearby (at extra cost), this hotel was comfortable, clean and very good value. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the International and English breakfast found to be especially good. We stayed in the superior rooms and particulary enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool. In all a very well maintained and comfortable hotel

TAVERNE KOEKOEK, 38-40 Langestraat is open 24/7 and serves excellent spit roasted chicken with bread. 5 Mins from hotel.

Experience and the car parking
Passable and fulfilled the need of the few days. no real arm chair to take ease in in the room chairs too sit up and beg forgivness type. Carpet badly stained although bedding and curtains clean. Hot drinks hard to get in the hotel and there is a need for available drinking water, soft drinks and perhaps option to have alternative to the horrible bar. Too many mirrors and no daylight. Pool okay but small and sub level no seating there either. Staff friendly and helpfull. Not a place to stay for comfort or rest. Car Parking 18 euros a day. On street parking okay if found. We used a Business room and was below expectations.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Try the local market in the morning. Eat in the ATHENA Avoid the LANGE STR. at night Ask local shop keepers for places to eat and where to buy things. Try Rodenbach beer Sit in the main square and listen to a band over coffee. Visit Oostende regularly and Brugge. Sluice a good day our in Holland. Beaches are great on the coast. Attend any tourist firework display.
