Great find

For the money, an excellent find. We had stayed in the Pod previously which was fine but cramped. Just down the road is this place with a suite costing not much more than a Pod room. Yes it is a tad old fashioned but I like the lived in feel... its more like a friend’s flat you are borrowing reather than a hotel. I shall certainly be staying there again...

I always go to the Morning Star diner. Only a block away in the next street (W) and the food is good.

Great room for the money

We had booked a studio suite for 5 nights. The first night we checked in around 9:00 p.m. and they gave us a small suite which the A/C did not work. We were able to get a upgrade to a larger suite with no extra cost. The staff was friendly and helpful, but we did have trouble with housekeeping getting us toilet paper and extra towels. It took over 30 minutes when the desk told us it would be right up. Other than that the stay was pretty wonderful. Especially like having a kitchen which saved us on some meals.

Great Place to Stay

A great place to stay if you enjoy walking. The hotel is a fair distance from Central Park, Times Square, and the closest train station is 5 or 6 blocks. The hotel was quiet, clean and an excellent value if booked via Expedia - the rate quoted by the hotel was much higher. Even though we requested a non-smoking room, we were originally booked in a non-smoking room on a smoking floor. Fortunately, the hotel staff was able to move us to a non-smoking floor. My only complaint was that we had to keep asking for additional towels - they kept supplying us with towels for two guests instead of four.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are a non-smoker, call the hotel directly after booking with Expedia to make sure that you get a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. Be prepared to walk a lot - it’s the best way to see the city.
