good hotel, will be better when the building work next door is finished.

The title pretty much says it all.Pleasant hotel, very central but noisy building work next door ( 09/10/2009 ). if you stay in monte carlo for a day buy a one day pass for the buses, it also covers the the little cross harbour boat - great fun.If you want to see the changing of the guard be there for 11.55 they wont wait for you.Monte Carlo is expensive swallow your pride and eat at Mcdonalds and shop at Carefoure - the prices are the same as in France.

All in all, not a bad hotel

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the port and the Monaco Yacht Club because I had to be at the marina by 8AM each day, it was convenient. The hotel staff was friendly and the rooms were typically small as in all of Europe. The bed was sunken on one side but it turned out to be comfortable. Basically no closets or storage areas except for a few narrow shelves. Bathroom had a bathtub with a hand held shower head, not really for taking a shower and mildew on the tub walls. Lots of hot water though. The stay at the hotel served its purpose for me.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Close to Monaco Marina and many restaurants and shops.

I love this private hotel and the service was wonderful

This is a wonderful and small hotel and the service is perfect. This is not Hotel d’ Paris, but a great landing spot to get about Monaco shopping and harbors. I do hope the construction next door ends because the jack hammering is constant.

Traveller's tip on shopping

Be sure to take euros with you prior to travel and convert them back to U.S. dollars at the airport. Let the customs know you have wooden tulips from Holland and not real tulips, if that is the case. My wooden tulips were mistaken for live tulips and analyzed for organisms. The customs man said it would hurt his back to lift my bags. Thanks, jk
