Tired but fine
Hotel looking slightly ’tired’ relative to its previous glories, but still providing a more-than-satisfactory level of service. Room was clean and had all the necessary facilities, and reception staff helpful.

very shabby, not impressed at all
shower ran hot, and cold almost scalded smell from toilet was sickening, had to change rooms the furniture in the room was as old as the hotel varnish worn off tables and threadbare carpets

Seen better days but still trying
This was once a rather fine place and is still quite cute, if fraying at the edges. However, clean and friendly and very cheap - I’d stay there again for one or two nights but wouldn’t want to spend a whole holiday there!
