Ramada Inn - North Platte

Service not the best.

Up until the moment of checkout I would have told you our stay was wonderful - and it was. However, at checkout there were three couples waiting for 15 minutes with no clerk to be found. We asked a maid that had come to check in and she had to go looking for the clerk - none too happily I might add. He came back with the portable phone in his hand and in a foul mood. Take care if you need anything at the front desk; the hotel itself is a really good value.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss Buffalo Bill Cody’s Ranch and go the few miles to Kearney to visit the Archway. Absolutely worth the time to see both.

Small quirks

Desk clerk made 2 room keys. Only one opened our room door, although both opened the outside door, which is a good security feature by the way for nighttimes. We stayed at this same Ramada on two successive Friday nights. One odd thing was that the light switch just inside the door controlled the above-the-bed lights, thus if you turned off the entry hall light, the bed lights also went off. It meant a trip to the door last thing in the evening, then finding way back to bed in total darkness other than what might have leaked through the drape opening.

I was impressed

Big room, nice breakfast, no problems checking in or out. Would stay here again.
