Lovely place
The hotel is located in a very nice area of oxford and just 10 min from city center by bus. It is really quiet and my room was really romantic and big. I spent a lovely night there.

Breakfast was fantastic
Although our room was a little dated the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was really good too. The hotel is not in the centre of town so a little inconvenient in that respect. I think perhaps a little overpriced for what it was.
There are 2 pubs about 2 minutes walk up the road from Hawkwell House, we went to the second one and the food was really nice, great value and the service was so friendly

It was the only available hotel with not so outrageous rates
Located definitely beyond town limits, although bus connection is convenient. Country-style settings, simple and somewhat charming. Lovely river nearby, with an old lock and trails. Taxicab to and from Oxford is about 8 pounds.
