Great location, Friendly personnel
Great personnel, great location, they just need to get new bedspreads to replace the stained ones. It is worth the few extra dollars to get a room on the 8th floor and above with the view of the harbor.
Traveller's tip
2009, July, the cab fare from the airport to Copthorne hotel was fifty NZ dollars about thirty US dollars. The maritime museum is a block away along the harbor,it was very nice. Walk along the harbor, it is lovely.

Well located though somewhat tired Auckland hotel
The hotel rooms are clean but somewhat tired and need of a refresh. Having said that, I chose the hotel because of its location on the waterfront and I was not disappointed. I will stay here again on my next stay assuming similar attractive rates are available. Otherwise will consider Westin or Sebel, both also on or very near waterfront.
Traveller's tip on dining
Walk out the front door of the hotel and a couple of blocks to the left are many restaurants around an attractive harbour basin containing two America’s Cup boats and many other power and sail yachts.

Good Choice in Auckland
Very reasonable hotel, great location, good staff, other than the hotel is 10 to 15 years old (but well maintained). Check-in/out was trouble-free with no surprises. The room was clean, beds OK, but the decorating was a bit drab. Lots of local nightlife nearby.
