Practical, friendly
Wi-fi works well and staff is very helpful. I heard them speaking with people in English, German and French as well as Spanish, so it is easy to get directions, suggestions, make requests, etc. Not plush, but very comfortable and clean.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
There are grocery stores within two-three blocks as well as local cafés that are more economical--especially for breakfast and fast meals. The kitchen is great for eating in the room, although they do offer a breakfast service through the hotel.Nicer, pricier restaurants are also close-by.

Good choice if you want an apartment and do not mind using public transportation.
Hotel is close to the metro station and public transportation works really well in Madrid. Our room had a large balcony that we were using for our meals. We enjoyed our stay.

Depends what you want
I needed a place to stay to be close to another hotel for an International Convention but didnt want to pay uts price for facilities I wouldnt use. Hence an apartment hotel very close to metro was ideal. Having a fridge, microwave/ grill enabled me to make my own breakfast which suited fine; the only hotel breakfast was room service, minimal, overpriced for what it was and not available when I wanted it. Room itself was great, sofa, table, TV, wi-fi (kitchette built in behind sliding doors), separate bathroom and bedroom all ample sized. Needed to ask for cupboard to be unlocked to give access to crockery, cutlery etc. Seemed to wait quite a time for the lift- since only on 2nd floor I usually walked. Reception manned 24 hour, spoke sufficient English- not the hotel to go to if you want service, but as a place like a home but where rooms cleaned in your absence it was great.
Traveller's tip on shopping
Tetuan Metro on line 1; so direct (about 25mins)to Sol which I think is central to what tourists want in Madrid. Local small shops, moderate sized supermarket, cafes, restaurants etc within a five minutes walk
