Fading fast
This was a disappointing experience, the wonderful interior architecture of eight floor lobby, is matched by the generous and well decorated bedroom with balcony overlooking the bay,but well worn bathroom attachments and a lack of attention to detail , combined with an outrageous £15 charge for internet left a very bad taste. Overall unexciting and grey.

Great location but not enough customer focus
Overall the hotel was very good. However on the days we were there they were hosting 3 conferences. As a consequence on arrival and finding we could not check in we decided to have lunch. The hotel restaurent had been sold out to one of the conferences and we were offered a snack in the bar. On the following morning at breakfast we were asked to sit and wait in a queue until a table became available. This is an unacceptable situation for a hotel of this standing. If they wish to host conferences then they should make food available in function rooms and not deny access to the restaurent to other paying guests. the hotel was also quite difficult to find. Some additional street signing would be helpful.
The Mermaid Quay has lots of restaurents and bars providing good food and drinks at good prices.

Great place
High quality hotel, deserves its 5* rating, beautiful views from all of the rooms, lovely food, great service, not bad for the money if you book far enough in advance.
