Not impressed
While the Rookery is an interesting hotel, our room was extremely small and dark. The front desk did nothing more than show us to our room. For the price, I do not think this was a good value, although it was our first trip to London.

First Class
My partner and I stayed for three nights - a short break to see a few gigs. All the rooms are well appointed and individual (named after a local character). Our room was opulant if a little dark and the plumbing was interesting but perfectly functional. For the girlies there were Aveda products in the bathroom and for the boys a fully stocked mini bar with a good selection of snacks. No worries if you run out of anything, you just pop to the honesty bar in the conservatory and help yourself! Or theres an M&S 30 secs round the corner! Theres no restaurant but you can order breakfast or room service which is always more expensive than popping out to a local eatery so dont complain about the price - its your choice! The staff were helpful and courteous at all times and were happy to look after our bags once we checked out so we could go off and enjoy an afternoon before heading to the airport. I would recommend this hotel and will certainly be back soon.
Traveller's tip on dining
Very handy for Smithfield and all number of eateries but at the weekend its pretty quiet as it caters for the Monday - Friday business community. Saying that Smiths of Smithfield is always busy!

Happy Stay
Booked this hotel on the basis of other reviews. Happy to say it worked out well. The hotel is in a very good location and just a short walk from Farrington tube station. The hotel is very comfortable. The rooms are well laid out and well furnished. Enjoyed my time and will use it again.
Lots of good value eating places around. I used local cafe for breakfast just around the corner. Good quality and cheap. Nice Italian restaurant on the other side of Smithfield
