Promised Much, but....

Great location on the edge of Chinatown to the south of the city centre and easy walking access from Outram Park MRT rail station direct from the airport makes the location a strong plus. But the hotel itself disappointed. Tired in appearance, it was a warren of rooms, albeit of which ours was clean, quiet and basic. The en-suite bathroom was the real minus, tired and very small. Aircon worked dependably well. For two nights it was ok as a budget fix, and with easy access up into town yet out of the hurlyburly. Average breakfast buffet. Sorry, it was passable but the website looks classy and the reality just does not match up. But good value, and at the rate we paid perhaps we had the deal we deserved. A lick of paint would transform, but not our bathroom!

Orient yourself using the hop on/hop off bus services on day 1 if you don’t know the city. And don’t miss the Botanica Gardens, a real green lung in the city.
