Great place to stay but not easy to get to

The Best Western Hotel Inca in Porto, Portugal was a great place to stay. We all enjoyed the morning breakfast feast that was complimentary. Our accommodations were great and the employees very helpful. What we didn’t like was the location and the difficulity finding the hotel and the lack of parking. We had to pay one night in the garage and one night in the lot across the street. We also didn’t care for the fact that they did not cater to families. For a party of six we had to get three rooms.

Great for the price

Great little hotel with easily the best buffet breakfast around for the price! We also stayed at the Holiday Inn which was more central on our return from the Duoro Valley but this was probably a little better. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Hotel is a little dated but had everything one would need including free wi-fi - and amazing French toast at breakfast!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Make sure you walk across both levels of Louis 1 bridge, such a great view. Loved Gordon’s winery - a bargain at 3 Euro for a tour and three tastes. Also - take a car or train to the Duoro valley, well worth it. Had dinner at an amazing seaside restaurant (casa cha)at La Palmiera, 507 bus and an hour away or 20 minute taxi - simply stunning views and great food - a treat but prices very modest.

OK but not what it looked like on website

Clean room but much smaller than expected. Staff were helpful. Good breakfast. Shower was OK but above a miniature bath with curtains that overhang the washbasin - a bit awkward when using the washbasin. Good views from the 5th floor over Porto. 20 minute walk to the river (downhill) but need to allow about 40 minutes to walk back uphill!!
