Appalling service
Not geared for English-speaking guests or female travelling without men. I went on this mini-break with a female friend and the service we received was woeful. The hotel is a bit outside the main centre and on a dual carriageway no benefits in terms of noise reduction although double glazing. Room service is chinese-takeaway level, you quote a number and hope they understand, there are no drinks on the room service menu so staff are flummaxed by any words describing drinks. Breakfast is expensive enough and service poor, and not great quality, stuff removed before breakfast ends. No English papers, no English channels bar occasional BBC world news (not reliable) and few staff speaking English. Crap minibar also. Room nice but small. Weddings also a hazard. In Bilbao restaurants & cafes don’t open Sundays
Nice town, friendly enough people although their pride veers into hostility at times. Also some general lack of industry/effort by staff in several places, Guggenheim another example....trying to find the cafe there should be a braintrainer test

Nice Rooms, shame about the food
Room quality and reception service excellent. Restaurant was poor value for money and poor service, however - credit to the hotel, we complained and they refunded everyone’s meal costs.

Good 4-star hotel
Room was comfortable - very clean, fresh, good size. Service good. It would’ve been better if they were like most hotels who cater to business clientele and have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Location is very convenient for visiting the Old Town, a little out of the way for everything else, but has a convenient underground stop a 5 minute walk away.
