Sleepless in Port St. Lucie

We are Starwood owners and have been very happy with all Starwood properties, but the Sheraton PGA Port St. Lucie was so disappointing that we moved out in the middle of our stay. We were in a small one bedroom unit. The bed was so uncomfortable, and the thermostat was so difficult to regulate, that we left after 6 sleepless nights. One night the outside temp went down to 39 degrees and we still had to run the AC. We asked each day to be upgraded or moved to another room, only to be told that they had no other rooms available, even though Expedia was still offering rooms for the same week. If you like quiet, this place is good, since they only have around 40 rooms and there was never more than twenty people around the (unheated)pool during Easter week. We were told that the property will be renovated soon, so I would definitely wait until that happens to go there.

Traveller's tip on nightlife

Not a whole lot of nightlife or attractions in the area unless you’re a golfer. The typical franchised restaurants very close but for an old time flavor of the area, head toward the beach. The Dolphin Bar was very good, but call ahead since we had to wait over an hour for a table. The ribs were very good at Sam’s Sneads right outside the resort.
