Universal park Getaway
I recently went to Universal Studios theme parks with my boyfriend and stayed at the Hawthorne. When we got to the hotel, they were quick to assist us. The gentleman told us that he would upgrade us to a suite because the room assigned to us might smell like cigarettes. The free breakfast was great, it saved us time and money, so we were able to arrive early at the parks. Next time I will definitely stay here again. Very kind and helpful people.

Great room and staff ...convenient for the money!
We went for a short getaway for Universals Halloween Horror nights. The only glitch we had is that we asked for a King bed and they didnt have one when we checked in early so they "upgraded" us to a suite with 2 queens. This has happened to me before at other hotels where they think they are doing a favor, but when you specify the beds, it really isnt. Anyhow, we kept the room and pushed the two beds together for a HUGE bed which we loved! The air conditioner was quiet, which most people love, but we love the fan noise, so we went out and bought a loud blowing fan and left it in the room when we left.Breakfast was decent, the pool area was small but decent (we werent there to layout). The staff was nice and the amenities were great. We were disappointed with the free happy hour, which is one of the reasons we chose this over the Wyndam accross the street...it was keg beer--which I dont drink and wine, which my guy doesnt drink either. But, not a problem, the TGIF at the corner has 2.00 drinks for happy hour! :) All in all, we really liked the hotel and loved our room.
