merryl hotel worth it!
This hotel was much better than i had expected. It was less than 10mins walk from Gard Du Nord and in the district of Indian/Sri Lankan restaurants. That means that you can always eat round there and if you like that food-much cheaper than central Paris. The hotel has clearly been done up and although it was noisy at breakfast (in room 3 or 4 as they are downstairs), upstairs it would be warm and quiet. Great showers, clean towels and beds made: Our windows opened and we felt very safe and comfortable as two young girls. Breakfast was croissants and coffee, we found yoghurt 3 out of 4 days too-so don’t expect fruit, cereal or cheese, but i would certainly go there again. General rule, eat before 8 and there are man deals available for 10euros and under everywhere.

cost effective bed for the night
This hotel is no frills however has everything you need. The rooms were indeed clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful (getting taxis, etc.) and the breakfast was decent. I don’t mean anything bad by decent. Coffee, pastries. Got the job done. :-) The beds in my room were 3 twins. I was traveling solo, just for fun and didn’t need much so no worries. Worked fine for me, on this trip any way. The hotel is located north Paris for sure.

Fair for the money
Hotel was very hard to find as street being relandscaped. Hotel being renovated lots of dust and smelt of paint. Never use the lift as very small and always breaking with people inside! Complained TV in room did not work told sorry by staff but that was it. Less than half a foot between toilet and wall so very crampt to sit. Quite a dodgy area to walk back in the dark but metro just across the road. Overall not bad for the money and will be better when work finished but would not stay again as money could get you something slightly better, but only slightly.
Eat as much free breakfast as you can use the metro-very reasonable prices compared to London look out for happy hours at bars otherwise very expensive Buy a detailed map otherwise get good shoes for extra walking!
