Perfect Location for those who want to explore a small vibrant area of Paris on foot
The Artus Hotel is located on Rue De Buci, just off of St Germain - a main road in the 6th district. An easy 10-15 minute walk from the RER B/metro line. The staff were friendly and courteous. Sanjay, by far, was our favorite concierge. He helped us set up a reservation for our anniversary dinner at Le Christine and gave us excellent directions and even knew the manager there. He was polite, friendly and always offering to do more for us. We heard that the rooms were small. Maybe by US standards, but we had plenty of space for our 4 nights. All of our clothes fit in the armoire and the room was quite beautiful and comfortable. Our bedroom at home is probably about the same size. We spent our entire trip learning that area of the city on foot. We walked to Notre Dame, the Louvre, The Concord, the Eiffel Tower, the Invalides, The Rodin Museum, the Orsay and the Luxembourg Gardens and became familiar with every street in between. Lots of wonderful cafes in the area and plenty of shopping. Rue de Buci is wonderful in that it is a pedestrian street. On St, Germain near St Germain du Pres is a crepe vendor perfect for a late night nutella crepe. Highly recommend this hotel and its location. It was a perfect trip. While the metro is close by I found it rewarding that we could see so much and really get a feel for the city on foot! Stop down Rue Cler for the market and grab a baguette for lunch!

Weekend Away
Good Things: the Artus Hotel is well located. Its only 5 minutes walk from Odeon metro station, which is itself about 20 minutes on a direct line (i.e. no changes) from Gare du Nord. Once there, you can walk to many places of interest for sightseeing, and there is no lack of choice of restaurants and interesting shops and/or street sights. This was my 2nd stay there (the 1st being many years previously) and I would stay again, subject to planning a few things better (see the next paragraph). The Reception staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The room and the rest of the hotel were very clean. Things To Improve: First, ask for a large room that is not on the ground floor - the reason is that the ground floor rooms are small and look out directly on to the street. Secondly, the beds are shorter than average and (even at 6 foot tall) I was hanging over the foot. Third: the rooms dont come with bath robes. Fourth: I was surprised that that the breakfast buffet (which was fresh, but limited) cost Euro 15 - the next time I would eat out instead. Finally: check out (at 11:30) was a little early. Subject to those caveats, I would stay there again.

Nice Property
Perfect location - just off St Germain in Rive Gouche. Nice room - having bathroom "seperated" from main living area made it difficult for father/daughter duo - would be fine for other "couples". Staff was attentive and helped us with Normandy reservations, Moulin Rouge Reservations, .... Close to #10 Met station (<1 block) other stations w/in 3 blocks. Musee DOrsay: 5 blocks Musee Louvre: 8 blocks Notre Dame: 6 blocks Seine: 3 blocks St Germain: 1 block.
