Don’t think about this hotel if you want to self cater
This hotel is very basic and although it offers self catering the facilities are extremely basic for the size of the rooms. They don’t even provide simple things like a kettle or normal sized saucepan to boil water in. They provided an oven but with no dishes/oven proof ware in order to use it and when we asked when the dishwasher would be fixed (it had an out of order sign on it) they said it wouldn’t be. Also DO NOT waste your money on their in room WIFI. It was so slow that we didn’t actually manage to get on to any of the websites such as hotmail etc. A complete waste of time and money when there are more than enough internet cafes in walking distance. Also don’t go to this hotel if you have a thing against moudly bathrooms. Ours was disgusting.
Go to the market place in Nice and also by the Courts for fabulous food and a chilled out coffee.

tired but clean
we didn’t know what to expect when we arrived as we had read mixed reviews, however, the studio was basic, decor tired, and generally in need of a refurb, but location was central, room very clean and staff extremely helpfull. If you want 4* dont come here, but if you want somewhere to sleep after a great day sightseeing then this is ideal.. We booked a studio because we knew Nice was very expensive to eat etc (pound v euro) and it gave us what we wanted, somewhere to make our own breakfast, packed lunch and eat out in the evening. supermarkets were close by, and there was a fantastic ’pizza van’ just up the street which made on the spot pizzas to order. Train and bus station within walking distance for visits to Monaco, Antibes, Juan les Pain, Cannes and Italian border towns etc. Overall although basic and tired it was value for money..

Avoid at all costs
This hotel was without doubt the most run down hotel room I have ever stayed in. Paint peeling, bench top worn down, shower curtin falling down and we discovered all the cutlery in the dishwasher where I think it had been for the last couple of months. To be honest - I could have lived with all this though. What I could not live with was the lack of air conditioning. The place was like a sauna. At 3am I seriously considered taking my 3 year old and 1 year old down to the car in the basement and trying to sleep in that. For what we paid I would expect air con as a bare minimum.
Avoid this hotel.
