Not for the claustrophobic
Hotel is well located and very convenient for exploring on foot. First impressions are good at front of house and breakfast is very good. However things go downhill when you venture deeper into the hotel and head for your room. The rooms, while of adequate size, are crammed in and the corridors are dark and very narrow. On checking in, we emerged from the lift to find the route almost impassable as the chambermaids were still dealing with room changeovers after 3pm. The room finishes are starting to get a bit tired and are not aging well. I do not smoke, but if you do and are used to having to smoke outside, there is no provision for this. There is no garden and unlike other hotels in the vicinity, there is no bench or other seating outside the front of the hotel. I had booked online and paid in advance, but on checkout there was initially no record of this that the receptionist could see on her screen. It was resolved satisfactorily without any unpleasantness, but it was irritating at the time. We only stayed one night on our way home after staying at the Antwerp Hilton and perhaps had we not stayed there first, the shortcomings of the Ramada may not have been so obvious!
As you emerge from the hotel, you are facing the best direction of travel. Cross the road and head straight on beyond the tram stop and you are into a maze of shops, bars and restaurants. Carry on until you reach a square containing a bandstand and you have a wonderful array of places to eat and drink.

Good location in Ostend but besides that....
The hotel in situated in the city centre. Note that outside of the tourist season, there is nothing much to do in Ostend. Most of the bars and restaurants are closed during this period. The hotel does not give a clean impression, eg: torn up towels. The rooms are small. The elevator is small and looks like it will break down any second. The breakfast is very good and the employee are all very kind. Conclusion: well situated hotel but do not expect luxury.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities

Over priced dingy and too expensive
This used to be a Holiday Inn and even then it was a poor quality hotel. Rooms are too small, it is too expensive and more like a B&B than a Ramada class hotel. If you check-out early then you are not provided with a take-out breakfast Will not ever visit again
