Kind Staff, Bad Hotel

I got to say, I’m really easy going with hotels, service, etc. But we had some problems with this hotel during our stay. The staff was super great. They recommended some good restaurants and even called to make the reservations. We overslept and missed breakfast in the morning, but the waiter brought out some food again for just the two of us and cleared us a table. The problems was just with the hotel itself, which was frankly just a little too run down. And since there was no ac, we had to sleep with a window open and both got absolutely destroyed by mosquitos.

So sad to eave!!!!

Recently had wonderful European vacation which included Bruges which turned out to be one of our favorite places We booked all of our hotels online throughout Belgium, France and Italy And the Azalea was our favorite ...the staff were very helpful and went out of there way to accomodate us...the big windows facing the canal with the canopy of leafy trees made the room a lovely relaxing place to come back to after miles of walking. We were in #3. The added bonus of a swan with three babies rtght outside the window was an added bonus. Breakfast was hearty with good coffee....a real treat to stay there!!!

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

It is definately worth taking the bus tour to get an overview of the city to see the places you want to go back to...book ahead online

Wonderful stay

Azalea Hotel was extremely welcoming. The barman was very helpful with suggestions about sites/areas to visit. The hotel was relaxing and had an old world charm coupled with modern facilities. Our window over looked a quiet canal and a nesting swan. The hotel is in walking distance of the central sights and we had no problem exploring most of Brugges during our three night stay. Perfect for couples who want to get away from it all and like plenty of beautiful buildings to look at. In Brugges food prices seemed on the high side but meals were substantial and yummy.Breakfast at the hotel was good and a relaxed affair.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Visit Lovers’ Lake and the surrounding area during early evening when the daytrippers have left - very peaceful spot.
