Suncoast Hotel and Casino
Las Vegas style in scenic surroundings
Closer to nature
Set in suburban Summerlin with the Spring Mountains and the Mohave Desert as its backdrop, the Suncoast is still every bit a Las Vegas hotel and casino: the Strip is just 10 miles away.

off strip -- so so
Suncoast manages to bring all the semi-seedy strip ambiance to a Summerlin location near Red Rocks. For a few bucks more you can stay at the Red Rocks Resort nearby.

Lost some of its former glamour
Two years ago, the Suncoast was luxury! Going back this past October, we were disappointed to find all perks gone, except for a coupon for a free drink at TGIF. By the way, TGIF is a nice added restaurant to this otherwise predominantly "senior friendly" hotel. We younger people enjoy having TGIF for a choice there. The courtesy shuttle has changed its route, to just dropping off near the Gold Coast and Tropicana. The former Middle of the strip drop off was so nice, and convenient. Right in the heart of the Vegas strip. Miss that feature so much. The shuttle buses are always late, and not always manned by pleasant drivers. Some drivers go out of their way to make your ride enjoyable, while others only make you feel uncomfortable.....and this is not a free service, as you pay for it through the hotel registration. With so many nice restaurants, a bowling alley and theatre, the Suncoast is doing a disservice to its patrons by not giving a bit of pampering and maintaining its former glory. Maid service (thank you Lee) was excellent. The hotel does need to replace their threadbare towels though....and that isnt the responsibility of the maid! Suncoast needs more shops.....one isnt cutting it. The Bagel deli there is the best....food and pricewise! Doubt we will be staying there again, or having future family reunions there.
Bring your own water.....expensive to buy in the shop at the hotel.

above average
it took a few extra minutes to check in (allowed 3 hours early!) so they gave us 2 free buffet breakfasts. We enjoyed the three nights we stayed, we would stay there again, no question. Very quiet on the ninth floor.
