More than surprised
This was one of the best experiences I had at staying in a hotel. For the price, its a steal in tokyo. The hotel was situated in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the city, although when you turn your back its all there just minutes away from everything. The train station is steps away. Yes there is a little hill, but its not like in the other reviews. Theres a shortcut to the station. It takes 5 minutes. You can eat for cheap in the train station or the food mall in the prince hotel across the street. Or if you want to live it up theres places in the hotel to eat. What ever budget your on you can choose. I cant wait to stay there again. Its spacious, very updated, comfortable, clean, beautiful garden, staff speaks enough english, convienient. I could go on and on. You would be foolish not to stay here. Its a true gem in tokyo. I loved it.
Take the airport bus to the hotel. It drops you off in front, and is the least expensive way to get to the hotel convieniently. Take a tour of tokyo. Tokyo dynamic tour is a great one. Take the train all over tokyo. There are maps, and the train has a english option to purchase tickets. The trains in tokyo give directions to train stops, in english and written in english above the doors. Eat at the train stations. Theres sushi, curry, bentos, bacon and sausage, cream puffs, ramens and more for around 600 to 700 yen which is about 6 to 7 u.s dollars. You can also splurge if you want there are restaurants with prices to accommodate your budget.

Exemplary service
First, it is nice to find a hotel where the front desk personnel are so attentive to making your stay enjoyable. As for the room, we requested a non-smoking room with a garden view. We got it, but after two days of waking up totally congested, we discovered that we were in a room without an ashtray on a smoking floor. The view was great though. The staff immediately arranged to move us to a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, and while the room was on the same side of the hotel, we had a much better view of the bus parking area than the garden. Second, if you request the green option, which is that your towels and sheets will only be changed every second day, you should note that it also means that your bed will not be made. The location is very convenient to Shinagawa Station and if you are unable to walk uphill, you can take the shuttle from the station to the hotel and then from the hotel to the station. Check at desk for times though. The internet is about $12.00 a day, and breakfast is about $40.00 per person, which is pretty expensive. There are lots of options for breakfast around the station and at Tokyo Station too.
Check with the guest services agent when you get to the hotel for tours because not all tours are available on a daily basis. If you do decide to take one, be sure and include Nikko, Kamakura, and Hakone in your itinerary. There are actually a lot more, but if limited for time, these three are great. If you have a couple of weeks, they offer two and three day tours of Kyoto and area. These are also great. But, do check when you get to the hotel. I missed a couple I really wanted because they werent available on the dates that I was.
