Expensive parking (15E) not disclosed & not included
Overall the Alimara is a good value on the outskirts of Barcelona. It is clean, comfortable and convenient (5 minute walk through a safe neighborhood) to the Metro green line which takes you to most of Barcelona sights. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable, and spoke and undestood English. The main drawback is that parking is not included in the hotels.com price and is expensive by city standards(especially being in the suburbs) at 15E a day. I feel that hotels.com should state the price in its ad or the hotel should disclose it on its website. We ate the buffet breakfast at the hotel which was good and 14E per person. There is a scarcity of other restaurants within walking distance. If you are looking to stay outside the center and avoid the traffic and take the metro into the center, the Alimara should fit the bill. Although, the map to the hotel is not very detailed and is helpful only as you near the hotel.

Quiet Area Near Metro
The hotel is around the block from the Mundet stop on the greenline metro, which takes you anywhere you want to go in Barcelona. It also connects to a rail that leads out the airport, but you have to transfer at Passeig and it takes a little while. Quiet residential area, nothing close by except a weird business center. Hotel is a high rise, which gives great views. Rooms are huge. We had too much room in our double. King bed was very hard. Bathroom was enormous, shower was very good, double sink. Very clean. Breakfast not included and I am not sure what the internet situation was. Stay here if you want a quiet, luxurious hotel for a great price and close to metro.
