Great low-key vacation
We hadnt been on a vacation in just the 2 of us in years and it was an excellent time. Oualie Beach is lovely. It isnt a luxury place, but its well kept and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. Also, its a much more laid back experience than the Four Seasons which feels like a country club. Oualie Beach is real and if you want to get out and see the island its a great jumping off point.
Traveller's tip on dining
We enjoyed dinner Eulellas in Charlestown down by the waterfront. We were there on a very quiet night in the off season and the food and service was great.

Go Somewhere Else
Our stay at Oualie Beach Resort has been the biggest travel/vacation mistake of my life. Overall it was a poor value and very disappointing. The food was good but very expensive. For example, the avg lunch was $50 and dinner was over $100 for 2 people at the hotel. The menu repeated itself all week. Plus dining options in the area were very limited. Other than 3 employees, we found all the front desk staff to be unfriendly, unhelpful and condescending. The rest/bar service was generally poor (eg slow and unfriendly) with exceptions here and there. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our best day on Nevis was the day we went to St. Kitts.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Instead of renting a car or getting a taxi, take the local bus/mini-van that passes by the front of the hotel to Charlestown and back. It only costs $2 or so and is easy to figure out. Plus you get the local flavor. Go to Coconut Grove. The food is incredible. Go to BBQ night at Nisbet Plantation. Again, the food is incredible and service is excellent. Take the ferry to St. Kitts for the day and go to Frigate Beach.
