Ideal choice for do-it-yourself trip to Naples, Pompeii, Paestum, Sorento

I was very pleased with my five-night stay. I wanted a good base for a do-it-yourself trip to naples and surrounding sites. The Ramada is only five minutes from the Circumvesuviana and Central Train Stations, so this made it easy to get to and from Pompeii, Paestum, Herculaneum. It’s also only ten minutes from one of Naples’ best pizzerias, Da Michele, and is about half an hour’s walk from the excellent Archaeological Museum. My room was large and confortable, though quite sparely furnished. The bathroom was very clean and an ample size. The buffet breakfast is a real plus: easily enough to set anyone up for a day’s sightseeing. The bar was pleasant and the multi-lingual staff were helpful. The hotel lacks "character", but that wasn’t what I was after. The local area is unglamorous, but it’s well-lit and safe, and I didn’t plan to spend time around the hotel. Finally, I thought the deal offered through expedia, of 5 nights plus flights from manchester via Gatwick was excellent value. I’d certainly recommend the Ramada to anyone planning a similar trip to mine (possibly less good for the romantic break!).

Visit the archaeological museum and have a pizza at Da Michele’s.

American Style Comfort At A Reasonable Price

As a frequent business traveler to Napoli, I have stayed in many hotels in the city. This Ramada equals in comfort much more expensive Italian hotels, and is a great value overall. Less than 10 minutes from the train station by foot, this Ramada is an a neighborhood not pretty to look at - but safe and convenient. The staff is friendly and helpful, the wireless internet (Swisscom) is sufficiently fast and reliable, and the rooms ar spacious and the beds comfortable. Ramada is now my only choice for accomodations in the city.

A five minute walk away adjoining the train station is the private railway, Circumvesuviano, which goes to Herculeneum, Pompeii and Sorrento. After a day or two of surveying the remarkably preserved ruins, visit the Naples Museum for a breathtaking look at artifacts extracted from Pompeii.

One the nicest hotels in Naples

Everything was satisfactory in this hotel. Very nice breakfast buffet, the personnel at the front desk as well as the housekeeping were always ready to assist us with any request we had. We liked the fact they provide Internet. The area is dirty and as in most places it’s wise to be aware of thieves.

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

We had no idea of the many places of interest that Naples offers. If you move away from the train station or the airport, you’ll get to see a different Naples.
