great location and hotel
rapallo was the right town to stay on the portofino coast and we were well pleased with this hotel .very close to the sea front and long promenade . excellent decorations spotlessly clean and good breakfast .friendly staff ... did hire a car and as hotel had parking assuming it would be free .. be warned it isnt ..you are charged if you use their garage
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
no need to hire a car.catch train from genova to rapallo then a regular ferry takes you to the other towns on the portofino penninsular and this avoids parking problems and charges.station close to hotel so catch the train to chiavari not on the tourist map but loads of shops with non tourist prices and many of the shops have fascinating original interiors and fittings and are set within vaulted covered walkways. Even enjoyable for us males dragged on shopping trips !
