Favorite hotel
Whenever I am in Tel Aviv I like to stay at the Carlton Hotel. This time there was easy access to the beach and a new deck added outside the lobby where you could order light snacks. A taxi was always available to go to other parts of the city.

Service we didnt think existed in Israel
We stayed at several hotels during our stay in Israel, and staff were indifferent to our needs, but not so at the Carlton. We were annoyed at having to pay for wireless service, and the hotel gave us an hour free to take care of our business. We needed a carseat for our ride to the airport, and they provided it. When we asked for anything, the staff was polite and accomodating (though no one knew what "turndown service" was, they made an effort to provide it when requested). This seems simple, like the basics of good service, but we stayed at other expensive, fine hotels in Israel where, when we asked about rooms at a hotel owned by the same chain, we were told we could call (and not given the number), when we asked for a taxi, we were told theyd stop if we went out to the street and waved one down, and where service was clearly not emphasized. With a beautiful building, a lovely room and a gorgeous view, the Carlton was like a breath of fresh air. We would definitely stay there again.
