Great stay
Our stay at the sonesta exceeded expectations. The grounds were very nice and perfect for the price. The staff was willing to go out of their way to help us. It was a great place for a first trip to Peru and one of the better properties in the scared valley so far as we saw. There were two main drawbacks: 1) if you are using urubamba as a starting place for your peuvian adventures there isnt a lot to the town. There are a few touristy places but most of the main activities are out of Cuzco or ollytatambo. 2) while the staff went out of their way a few times to help us i would say that their general knowledge level lacked. Most of the time they couldnt answer simple questions and would give us an answer that started with "i think" that was generally incorrect after going to find the answer myself. All that being said I have been home for 3 days now and have already told several friends about this place. I would go back in a heartbeat.
