Not A Bad Stay
This hotel is about a mile from the center of the city, half a block off the a major street, so walking and transportation are convenient. This hotel was much better at its prime, but its not well maintained now. The room was small but cozy. No AC, we had to open the windows. The room was generally clean, although some stuff are old. Breakfast was 22 euros per person, so we bought stuff to eat from the cafe or supermarket just down the street. The staff were generally friendly. Overall Id give it a 3 out of 5.

Good place to stay for a weekend break
10 minutes walk from Louise metro stop, the Izan is located on a quiet side street (thankfully!). Handy location for Eurostar arrivals as its just a couple of stops on the metro from Gare Midi. The hotel had a slightly strange layout but the room was very comfortable with a good bathroom and was clean and well decorated in a traditional style. The only problem was that it was very warm inside the room even though it was only about 15 degrees centigrade outside; we had to fling the windows open whenever we got back and had to keep them open in the night as well. Good location for sight seeing. Breakfast looked pretty poor for 23 Euros (although you can get room service for 12 if that makes it any better!). Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Traveller's tip on dining
Very close by (5 mins) is an Ekzi which has a breakfast bar with cereal, toast, fruit etc and a Paul for pastries. There are a few restaurants close by; the hotel recommends one street near the metro which was quite good, but have a wander down Rue Blanche away from Av. Louise; we found a couple of really nice, less crowded restaurants that way.

good value
Very good accomodation for the price. Location slightly out of centre but easy walk/tram etc to all interesting sights.
