good business hotel
I stayed here for pleasure purposes rather than business purposes and on hindsight it was more than what I needed. This would be a good hotel for a business traveller as my room was spacious, clean and tidy, with a good shower room. It was also in a more business oriented district with not much eating or drinking venues within reasonable walking distance later at night. Breakfast was relaxed with a good choice of food available and plenty of seating. Overall though an enjoyable experience.
Traveller's tip on dining
If youre looking for something to eat after 11.00 at night get it in another part of town.

Good food and comfort in outskirts of Oslo
Rooms are bright, light and spacious and very clean. Tea making facilities are available but no coffee - but you can get that in the foyer along with sandwiches, muffins, chocolate and toiletries. there is a supermarket almost opposite where you can buy just about anything. Also MacDonalds opposite if that is your weakness. Ice machine was almost outside my door. Breakfast really good - just about everything on offer - hot or cold, and a polite little notice giving you permission to make up your own lunch packs for a small charge - I think it was 80 kr. Receptionists also bad on directions - got sent to entirely the wrong bus stop for the bus I needed, and no-one explained the ticket system on the trains - its OK though - on the ticket machine just press the flag of your country and the instructions are very clear. The hotel sells train tickets to the Airport - very useful. Only complaint (apart from the wrong directions) was the plumbing. The hotel is proud of its recycling system but there is a tendency for the wash basins to become blocked. Be warned.
Norwegians dont seem to be good at directions so here is the best tip - if coming from the Airport take the express train (price 170 kr) straight to the nearby train station of Skoye - takes about 35 minutes. From the platform at Skoye look to your left and you will see Scandic on the building wall a hundred metres or so away from the station. Down the station stairs and short walk and you are at the hotel.
