Not bad but probably better value for money elsewhere

Hotel is well located close to a lovely beach. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a good wine list in the main restaurant and food to suit even the most picky of eaters. One can definitely spend a few easy days relaxing here without any stress. Saying that, the hotel does lack a little something for the price and although I am glad I stayed there once (and had a good time), I think there is better value for money in other places where I have been before. It might sound like a small point but the downside is definitely the noise in the hotel rooms. For some reason the "quiet" room I was given had an adjoining door to the next room with a gap under the door. On the 2nd night without sleep I had to ask (at 1 am) to be moved as the guy snoring in the next room was unbearable and the noise travels badly (hotel was full so had to wait bear another night without sleep before getting moved). Also the tiled floor and gaps under the doors meant that even in the next room you can hear every clip of heals coming in at 2am or 3am.

Poor Value for Money - Really Disappointed

We are back from a 5 day break at the Timi Ama which was very disappointing. It is not a 5 star hotel, in terms of both quality and service. The room was 3/4 star at best, small and dated. The shower room was tiny, the shower door did not close properly and the tray filled with water really quickly, hence very short showers. We complained about the room, were shown another that we agreed would be a bit better (still dated), and then told we would need to pay extra to get it; despite being half full. Any further complaint was greeted by "you have a good deal" i.e should be satisfied. Our trip was not cheap! The food was poor. Breakfast and dinner had large ranges, but cheap ingredients, that had often been sitting around sometime and dried out, notably the pasta, scrambled egg, ham. The breakfast orange juice was bottled, and when we asked if they had any fresh, the answer was yes, but we had to pay extra. Despite being on half board we went out for dinner 2 nights and had excellent food, and great service. There are some nice things there, but they are overshadowed by the blatant greed in terms of prices, penny pinching in terms of quality, and the lack of customer orientated service. The front 2 rows on the beach were 50 Euros and 30 Euros respectively per day, and hardly used. We went to have a Jacuzzi, and were informed it would be 30 Euros each as was part of the spa, we never saw it used. We do not mind paying for the 5 star experience but expect it to be delivered.

Not Bad!

Good food, good wine & good service in the hotel. But the size of standard double bedroom is rather small and there isn’t a bath in the washroom, it’s only a little shower. For a 5-star hotel, I’m a bit disappointed!

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

From the airport, take a bus to Cagliari for 2 euro. Then take the bus to Villasimius for 3 euro. Otherwise the taxi fare would cost you 100 euro.
